
Description	ScanCollect is a semi-automatic data recording system whereby the operator scans the barcodes of the products and machinery activities. A standstill of 1 minute, for example, is recorded by a scan. When production recommences, the operator performs another scan.
Deployment area	This method is particularly suitable where there is a wide range of different products. However it does involve placing a PC on the line. ScanCollect can also be used in combination with RemoteCollect.
Advantages	ScanCollect is simple to use. Data is recorded directly into the OEE Toolkit. It is possible to work simply and dynamically with a wide range of different products. Feedback at the end of the shift is obtained through the shift report.
Disadvantages	ScanCollect can only be used when barcodes are available. Each product must be scanned, so this is only viable for low quantities.
